Coastal Resilience

Engineering and planning support for coastal risk and climate adaptation.

Coastal Harmony Engineering provides coastal hazard and climate resilience services supporting infrastructure planning, environmental permitting, and long-term adaptation design for coastal communities.

Services address shoreline erosion, coastal flooding, sea level rise exposure, and storm-driven hazards through a combination of field understanding, modeling, and applied engineering analysis. Work is structured to support early planning, design development, regulatory coordination, and implementation.

Projects are regularly coordinated with the California Coastal Commission, USACE, RWQCB, and local permitting agencies.

Core Capabilities

  • Coastal vulnerability and hazard exposure assessments

  • Sea level rise analysis and adaptation planning

  • Shoreline change and erosion studies

  • Coastal flood and inundation modeling

  • Wave runup and storm impact assessments

  • Coastal hazard mapping and risk evaluation

  • Nature-based coastal adaptation strategies & design

  • Coastal Hazard Monitoring Plans (CHMPS) for RWQBs

  • Integration with CEQA/NEPA documentation and regulatory permitting

Typical Applications

Coastal restoration and habitat enhancement planning

Shoreline stabilization and erosion mitigation projects

Transportation and utility infrastructure risk assessments

Coastal vulnerability assessments, coastal adaptation plans

How this Supports Your Project

This service is often integrated with:

  • Hydrology & Water Quality analysis

  • Ecological Restoration planning and design

  • Regulatory Permitting & Compliance

  • Field Monitoring and Construction Oversight

Together, these services provide continuity from hazard assessment through design, permitting, construction, and long-term performance.
